It's been a pretty crazy transition into Fall for me being that I moved in to my new condo. It's taken me longer than usual because while unpacking, I decided to throw so many things away. If I couldn't find it a purpose or a proper place, I got rid of it. The crazy thing is, I still feel like I have so much more to throw out. It's definitely a process because I am a collector at heart. Isn't every decorista?
Upon moving in there are a few things that are really important for me to have in place. After a bed, my next must is my meditation space. My special place where I clear my mind, journal things out and get inspired for what I want to create next. More on that here. I was thrilled when Chesapeake Bay Candle company sent me a few candles from their Mind & Body collection. Incredibly perfect for a mindful gal like me. I love what they stand for, Peace & Tranquilty and Reflection & Clarity. They smell fantastic and have been a perfect accent for this nook in my bedroom where I spend my mornings in meditation and thought.
It led me to really think about the power of getting inspired. It's a beautiful thing to be filled with ideas for a flourishing future but what are you supposed to do when that glittering idea comes to your mind. I can remember one time I overheard a friend of mine talking about an idea to start a meal delivery program for her apartment building. She is a fabulous cook and is always coming up with fresh ideas in the kitchen. Her building was full of young professionals who could really benefit from this type of business. Her idea was genius, I encouraged her to take my Unleash Your Ista program, learn the tools to start and really commit to making it a business for herself. She toyed with the idea and opted to wait until she had a proper website, business cards, instagram, etc. She wanted to wait until she had just a little more time.
A month and half passed by and the next thing you know she comes home one day to a flyer on her door with a new meal delivery offer from someone else in her building. Someone capitalized on the idea and it worked.
The lesson here is when inspiration strikes, you must TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY!
Ideas and inspirations are gifts from God. The universe is longing to express these gifts for the benefit of the rest of the world and each of us are given these incredible assignments to create waves in the world. It's up to us to make the most of the opportunity or sit by and watch someone else take it.
SET YOUR HOME up to be a sanctuary where you are a vessel for inspiration to come to you. Have your space cleared out and organized which frees you up with the time and resources to take action on those ideas.
Have an itch to write a book? Create a space in your home to freely do so. Want to make a vision board? Have a clear table and inspiring space to create a beautiful vision seamlessly.
Speaking of. . .I put the Joy & Laughter candle in my living room to encourage my guests when they come over.
A little update: I got the white sofa for the living room. It looks so delicious against the deep, velvety black walls.
I also found a few beautiful little journals I put throughout my home just incase some inspiration strikes, I can write the thought immediately so as to not miss it! Loving this art deco black and gold goddess. She hangs on my current coffee table with a beautiful pen.
Today, I am working on a little DIY project for my condo that I just know you are going to love. So stay tuned for more Villa Noir updates.
