I absolutely love to read. Which is fabulous for me because I think books are one of the best home accents, ever. In an effort to keep my home clean and organized, I have bought most of the books through Kindle and read them on my phone. However, when it comes to books that are more photo focused, I have curated an entire collection.
Not only are they beautiful to display, when you have guests over they make the best conversation starters. When I have guests, I make sure my books are out so people can enjoy them while I am buzzing around in the kitchen. To encourage my guests to look at your books you really want to display them in a way that inspires their curiosity. I am obsessed with the TASCHEN book stand, it makes a fab piece for a console or coffee table. Everyone needs one.
I've recently been browsing on Pinterest for ways to display your books so they are easy to want to pick up. This is why I love bookstores, the way they display the books just makes them irresistible. I love them placed on a shelf with the cover on display.

I typically like to only buy books that are in hardcover and magazines that feel more like a book. It's easier to stack or display that way. I also only buy ones that inspire me with the cover, the title and the content. It's got to have that WOW factor. When designing a home that is put together and polished you want things that you absolutely love and make you feel good. It's the only way to achieve domestic bliss.
Create the story of who you are through the books that you choose and it's almost like a piece of art in itself. I encourage you to get rid of anything that does not display the best of who you are or who you want to be.
