For many years I have been following my fellow Texas blogger girls, Sea of Shoes and her decorista mom Atlantis Home. I absolutely love their style, especially the mom. Her home decor has always been very edgy, bohemian yet still has such a warmth and coziness about it. That comes from true domestic intentions and skill. Our styles are extremely different but one thing we do have in common is a love for thrifting. I've been noticing on her instagram, she recently did a decorating makeover where she only used items she found at thrift stores. Oh, I just know this was so much fun. The joy of the thrift store find is absolutely thrilling!
The teal buddha, the beautiful feminine artwork, a few spiritual figurines. These are perfect examples of items that you find and bring home, that you ABSOLUTELY LOVE make the perfect personal home touches that will ultimately bring you domestic bliss.
I just loved the personalized style of this particular bedroom. The soft grey wall color and the vivid colors in art, textiles and trinkets. It just gave me the appeal of a sacred space. I talk often about the importance of creating your own personal space. Today I want to take it a step further. How can you turn your personal space into a sacred space?
Since the start of 2016, I've created a morning routine so intense that it basically consists of 1 full hour of intention. I have my favorite orchid, light a few candles, turn on some relaxing music, meditate, do some yoga poses, write in my journal, sip my coffee, write down some intentions for the day. It's my time where I connect with myself before my hectic day. I can not explain the difference this has made in my life just in the start of the year. It's tuned me into my intuition and allowed me to clear out the clutter in my brain with so much ease. This is what I call my sacred space.
A sacred space is a special area in your home where you can release stress and tune into yourself. Read more about sacred spaces here.
I decided I wanted to create more of a sacred vibe to my personal zone to make it feel a little more supportive of my morning routine. This photo above with the gorgeous gold mirror and large yoga mat certainly had me so inspired. Wouldn't this be such a beautiful place to practice some yoga poses in the morning? I also love the beautiful candle sticks and gorgeous greenery. Kind of gives me that thrift store vibe, which I love.
I need my sacred space to be a little more glam but these spaces do give me a little inspiration.
This small vignette is pretty clean and simple but I do love the wood. . .
Because I currently do my yoga at the end of my bed, I also really love the idea of a wood bench at the end of my bed. This is a great place for stacks of magazines, pillows, laptop, just a few things you want in reach from the bed but not wanting these things sitting on the bed.
