Something I have come to realize lately is that my coffee table has become the hub of my day to day lifestyle. In the workshop, I talked in depth about how seeing what you are surrounded by in the main zones of your home reflects what is important in your life. Especially on your coffee table. What's a good coffee table without flowers of the week, your current candle obsession and books & magazines you are reading?
One thing about me, I am always reading something new. As a Capricorn, I feel its important to constantly learn new things, expand my perspective on life and fill myself up with inspiration. Books are similar to having an in depth talk with an inspiring friend. Enriching and empowering conversations are one of my favorite things to experience.
To be a good entrepreneuress and run your own business, its important that you are continually adding to your skill set. I find that when you are open to growth, you are able to keep up with the constant shifts that are made in your industry. When you are connected to your spirituality and intuition, you are able to easily make the right decisions for yourself and your business. I'm often inspired by women like Oprah and Sarah Blakely, founder of Spanx, who really let intuition take the lead. When you understand that your home is a reflection of who you are in this world, you are open to up-leveling your living environment to reflect that of all that you desire in this world. Reading feeds you fuel for your journey.
For those of you who cannot relate and don't really enjoy reading, books on tape are fun too. You could even just keep the books on your coffee table and open them up when you have a minute to enjoy a few pages of inspiration. I'll share with you the books I keep on my coffee table and why I keep them close by.
The Motivation Manifesto by Brendon Burchard. A girlfriend of mine turned me on to this guy. Just a couple of minutes in to listening to his videos gave me a surge of powerful & motivational energy. I still pick up this book to get a pick-me-up for when I'm needing a kick in the. . .
The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. It wasn't until I started working directly with my coach that I learned just how much my mental relationship with money was affecting my level of success. I was instructed to read several books on the subject of 'wealth conciousness' and this book was my absolute favorite. Learning how to tap into the energy of wealth was a big factor that helped me create the income that I was looking for. (This is something that I am working on diving deeper into with The Paid Decorator Masterclass, be sure to sign up and be the first to know when it launches.) For now read this book!
The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte. When it comes to being successful, it all begins with a vision. It's important to know exactly what you want. You've got to keep digging and digging until you get to exact picture of what you desire. This book will help you learn just how to gain the clarity you'll need.
Blissful Living by moi. Not only do I love keeping this book around because the cover just gives me so much joy, I also talk a lot about how your home can help you create a beautiful life. I encourage you to tap into the power of living in the now. I show you how you can design a life you love by creating a home that supports your dream lifestyle. My heart is in this book, so it sits on top!
You can heal your life by Louise Hay. First of all, I love anything and everything by Hay House. I am a super fan. This book was given to me as an introduction to the world of Hay House. Her message is very simple, what you give out in life is what you experience. If you are negative, you'll get back negativity, negative health, negative bank accounts, etc. She's a cancer survivor, she can show you how to heal yourself.
Domino, guide to a stylish home. I keep decorating and design books all over my house but this one is really pretty. It's also easy to flip through when I need a little inspiration for design projects I am working on. Sometimes Pinterest just doesn't cut it.
As much as I try to clear off any surface in my home as much as possible, I do love to surround myself with accessories that are currently in my mood. Here are a few. . .
Also. . .
The Black agate coasters I got years ago and I love them. The gold is so glam and rich, I just love them.
My sparkly skull is possibly my favorite thing on my table.
My gold chain tray was from Horchow but they are sold out.
A few more things. . .
How adorable is this little Hamsa Hand? It is a symbol of good luck that when placed in the home attracts more of it.
I am seriously obsessed with this behind-the-scenes look at Tom Dixons black sofa cover. So glam.
Have you shopped for Mother's Day yet? Here's a little guide to get it over with.
