March typically gives me that need to clean everything out! Everything gets lighter, mind, body, soul and home. I get these itches to get rid of everything I own and start with a clean slate. A whole new palette. Right now, I am totally feeling layered beiges, greiges and little pops of black. It's such a clean and modern look. My inspiration comes from the Kourtney Kardashian bedroom in this issue of AD magazine.
Right now I am loving the look of wood and lucite mixed. Especially in dining tables. You've got a nice beautiful wood top that gives you a cozy and homey feeling. Then you have a clean and clear lucite base that gives the illusion of a floating table. So mean and so clean.
I've also been paying attention to cleaning out all aspects of my overall lifestyle. Not just in terms of design but mentally, physically, etc.
Burning Sage. It's important not only to clear out clutter, clean away dust, etc. You also have to clear out negative vibes and energy in a space. Energy can be stagnant. At the first of every month, I like to open all the windows allow new air to come in and out and burn some sage. It's an intention that goes a long way.
Cleaning out my calendar. I was reading an article the other day and it talked about scaling back in business. I want to reduce the amount of things I commit myself to. So, I've been saying "no" a whole lot more. I want to keep my daily calendar as clean as possible.
I'm not quite sure how serendipitous this was but on my last weekend trip to Dallas, I lost my toiletry bag. Literally all of my toiletries I use everyday for hair, skin, teeth etc. I lost it ALL. Which came at the right time because I had to restock my entire toiletry inventory. I kept my purchases intention, clean and basic. (I also tried to buy things with ingredients as clean and organic as possible)
I've been loving setting intentions lately. In my planner, I have a list of intentions I am working on this year. One of them being living more thoughtfully, so when I saw this Thoughtfully magazine I knew it was perfect for me. I've also realized that I am not getting any younger, so really taking extra care of my skin is of super high priority. I have never been good at regularly washing my face. Now I am a Burt's bees face wipe addict. So before and after the gym I can easily clean my face or before bed when I'm too tired to do it.
I'm a huge Olivia Munn fan and love her skincare tips. So, I have been super obsessed with Hyaluronic Acid. My two new nightly rituals are using it with my Coenzyme serum. It literally tightens the face and feels so so so good. Also my Andalou naturals toner is brightening has Vitamin C and smells yum! I love it.
So, let's get back to my Spring Clean March color palette. I WANT TO MOVE INTO THIS. . .
