Today, I feel incredibly excited to announce that I was nominated for Best Interior Designer blog for the Domino Blogger Awards. I can't tell you how much of an honor this is because I truly have a love affair with Domino magazine. I can remember the very first time I picked up the magazine. I was hooked, each page will filled with such amazing decorating content, I could never get enough. To be recognized by the magazine is just absolutely amazing.
I would be so grateful if my Decorista fam would help support and vote for The Decorista here. There are so many fabulous bloggers nominated, I feel so lucky just to be included.
I'd like to thank Domino for always providing me with such inspiration and inspiring content that helps cultivate my style and the work I do with my clients. I highly encourage you to check out the magazine for inspiration in designing your home. Right now, I have a couple of master bedrooms I am working on and here is some inspiration I have pulled from Domino.
I'm fully inspired by these dark and cozy bedrooms. There are a few reasons I like to encourage my clients to embrace a darker master bedroom.
1. A deeper sleep. If you have any issues sleeping, it could be from light creeping in. If I really need some good sleep, I always grab for a sleep mask because I need no light in my eyes. It disturbs my sleep. Dark walls, bedding and curtains will help you to fall into a deeper sleep.
2. Enhance the romance. A darker master bedroom can add to the hotel like vibe of romance. It can help you to feel like you are hiding away from the world and set the stage for cuddling in bed, watching movies, etc.
3. Stress relief. In a dark room, you can really get your mind quieted down. It helps in mediation, yoga moves and just when you need to relax at the end of the day. Your eyes will be able to rest and enjoy the evening, who wouldn't just love that?
