Last night I had the most incredible Instagram Live call. I shared a bunch of my favorite Feng Shui tips and answered some really interesting questions. It seems to me that while most people are intrigued by Feng Shui, they feel overwhelmed and intimidated by it.
The truth is, there is A LOT of information out there and it can seem like a very overwhelming, complicated philosophy. People get lost in the different modalities of Feng Shui. Much like yoga has ashtanga, vinyasa, bikram, etc. There are different approaches and points of view. How do you know if what you are doing is right? Which direction is what? Does this really work? Etc.
YOUR INTUITION KNOWS FENG SHUI.
You hold all of the answers to everything you desire to know. The work is usually in removing the blocks that are in the way from finding your truth. You know what color your walls need to be painted, your intuition knows exactly what color vibration it longs to be surrounded by. However, most of us get lost in the doubt, the hesitations, the commitment, the fear, etc. If your soul wanted to live in an all black home (hello, me), I’d bet money that you would question it to death, ask friends for their opinion, look at Pinterest to see how it looks in someone else’s home. You aren’t just trusting your internal compass.
All of that energy is the OPPOSITE of true Feng Shui. That’s why I’d like to be able to rename the whole thing and call it, “how to have a high vibe home”.
There are two truths I totally feel called to share with you today because I want to help you see that Feng Shui is easy, its approachable and its not just a way to place furniture, its a lifestyle.
It’s never done. Our brains crave change, in fact we need it and our homes need it too. Nothing is ever meant to be the exact same, in every single moment, we are manifesting, we are choosing new and we are evolving. We aren’t the same person we were 5 minutes ago. The same is true for our home, we need to constantly be moving the energy around our home to keep it fresh and aligned with who we are becoming. So you can’t ever get it wrong. For example, if you want to paint a wall a certain color but hesitate because you may hate it, you can always paint it back. Nothing is stuck, unless you force it to be.
Everything is energy. How you feel about your home means so much more than the perfect layout. Feng Shui is represented by the flow between you and your home, the way it feels to walk through and vibe with your space. The goal is to LOVE your home, like be in love with it. You don’t have to spend $30,000 renovating and redecorating your space to love it. Sometimes, it’s just about making simple, everyday shifts that can change the entire vibe.
HERE ARE 10 EVERYDAY FENG SHUI HABITS THAT WILL HELP BRING YOU BALANCE AND BLISS
Your front door is where the energy enters. That represents opportunities. You want opportunities to feel welcomed, unobstructed and clean. Treat your front door like the doorway to your dreams.
Drop your loose change inside a gold dish (the color of wealth) every time you come in. Letting wealth/money accumulate at your front door combines money with your opportunities flowing in. It’s a powerful combination of energy you really want to call in.
3. Fresh air brings renewal, it cleans, it purifies so things don’t go stale. Let in fresh air often to keep out lower vibes and allow the energy of new to come in!
4. Opportunities can get flushed down the drain or the toilet. That’s why you always want to keep the toilet seat down.
5. Air purifying plants have countless benefits, you can read my favorites here. Not only do they represent growth and bring new life in, they help to combat the harmful radiation of all your electronics.
6. Your stove is the generator of wealth in your home. The thing to remember is that if you are able to cook on your stove, that means you have food to eat and its a wealthy blessing! Using your stove is a practice of gratitude for the fact that you are able to eat. When you switch to this Feng Shui mindset, your energy of gratitude puts you in the vibration of abundance and wealth.
7. Fresh flowers boost your mood so you want to be sure to keep those beautiful mood boosters around. As soon as they wilt or die, they need to go. You don’t want dying energy in your home. Thank the flowers before you throw them out for the joy they brought in and let them go.
8. If there is an area of your home that you don’t visit often, be sure you take care of it by making sure there is zero clutter in that area. Discounted areas of clutter often show up in your life in other ways. If you have an area with a bunch of unopened bills you keep forgetting to get to, that comes back in blocked financial increase. You can use crystals to help you enhance these areas and protect the energy. Read how to Feng Shui with crystals here.
9. Your bed is where you spend most of your time at home, so you want to be sure it is in the optimal position. Make sure that you can see your door when you are lying in bed. This allows you see what is coming, giving you more control over your life and a sense of ease. This makes for optimal rest.
When you make your bed, you are putting the energy of excellence into your day which is optimal Feng Shui. If you miss a day, that’s okay. Feng Shui isn’t going to punish, just try again tomorrow. It’s more about creating the joy of coming home, getting into your bed with ease and calm, not a messy and chaotic energy.
10. Candles represent the FIRE element, which is the element of manifesting your desires! I love using candles in the home because it activates my intentions. Every time you light a candle, speak your intentions into the flame. This helps you to lock in your goals, dreams, desires and activates your home as a powerful ally in all of your manifestations. Thus, helping you fall more in love with your sacred space.
