Last week I spoke at New York Design Center's What's New, What's Next conference. It was such a honor to speak alongside some of our industry's most talented designers. We all pretty much agreed that the new trends are yet to be seen, with the developments in technology we will be seeing things that have never been done before. I get so excited for things like that.
What we did talk about, was how there seems to be a return of "pretty decorating". Pretty can mean different things to different people so I wanted to share with you all my version of what pretty looks like. . .
When I think of pretty, I think soft, sensual and pleasing to the eye. Pinks and anything Parisian constitutes pretty to me. I also love pretty pops of yellow. Against the light grey wall, its a subtle pairing that just delights the senses.
A sweet birds & butterfly wallpaper in a bathroom is just so pretty.
Pretty can also be modern and a mix of vintage too. Soft colors keep things pretty as well as curves, crystals and moldings of all sorts.
I've always been a fan of the monochromatic look and this living room with a tufted sofa and jarred sea shells is totally pretty.
