Over the weekend, I hit up the Tribeza Magazine Interiors Tour in Austin and it was kind of awe-inspiring. Growing up in Austin so many of the homes that I would visit were similar, you know that old beige 'Texas meets Tuscan' vibe. Ick. But Austin has grown up, these homes were so modern and glamorous and I was totally digging it. There were 7 different homes throughout Austin to scope out and there were 3 that really got me going. While not exactly my taste, each of these homes had an element of style that I really liked and I felt was a part of me. So let me give you a glimpse into my brain and the elements that inspired me. . .
HOUSE #1 Butter Lutz Interiors: First I have to say, the moment I walked in I felt such a spiritual glam vibe going on. I love a home with an open layout, it makes me feel so cozy. I also love the large paned windows and doors in the back of the home. With the gorgeous Austin views, it would be so hard to not want to just gaze out. This home had the lighting game on such point that I took about 101 photos from almost every single angle. Getting the right mix of lighting in an open layout is SUCH an important thing to get right. This mix was real real real good. Oh and the emerald velvet sofa was absolutely stunning and a fantastic way to incorporate color. Well done.
I also was transfixed by the green rug in the bedroom. I mean it was so good. Now this is probably a little more rustic glamour but I was into it. Getting this look right and making sure to keep it feeling luxurious you have to get the mix of layers and textures right. Well I think this was a brilliant mix. The dark wood with a dash of fur, rural country style art with a glamorous gold frame, modern wood side tables with crystals and a gold lamp. Winning.
I also love when people get wild in the guest bedrooms. This is the spot to let loose. I love the zebra headboard and exotic accents.
How about this bathroom, huh? Glamorous gold fixtures looking bomb. The dark walls were supreme. Quite possibly my favorite part of the entire home was the agate door pulls on the cabinets. The glamour is always in the details.
HOUSE #2 Katie Kime: The footprint of this home was just by far my absolute favorite. So interesting around each corner you'll be delighted by something cool. Lots of pattens and prints and colors will keep you looking for something else. A few things really popped out for me. 1. The antelope rug on the staircase. Looked so good against the modern staircase, it just gave it such a cozy feel. 2. The pink rug in the entryway. The colors were so rich and pretty.
3. The femme art in the dining room just made you smile. I love how good art gives good vibes. I put something similar in my dads home and we absolutely love it. 4. The touch of marble on the back of the dining chairs. I love when there is drama in the details.
5. These barn doors were ridiculous. Stopped me right in my tracks.
6. I think neon lights always make for a great conversation piece.
7. A lucite kitchen island. Yep.
8. A closet that looks like a boutique always makes me swoon.
9. The daughters room was also pretty interesting with a beautiful flower wall installation.
10. My favorite part of the home was this outdoor room. Couldn't you just imagine relaxing with coffee and a book or a really fun movie out here? I would live in this room.
HOUSE #3 Allison Crawford: Bow down. I love this girls style. Now you may have seen where I talked about her chic black and white home office before. If you know me, you are totally thinking "this is so you Ashlina". I know. I just love it.
What I REALLY love about this space is that she highlighted the ceiling. This is something I wish more people would do. The ceiling is also part of a room and looks much more beautiful with a coat of color. I personally try to convince every single one of my clients to paint their ceiling metallic. It enhances and bounces the light in a room in such a glamorous way. Without the ceiling this office would not be the same.
The office is in the pool house. Pretty glamorous, I know. But, when you go to the main house you would be thrilled with all the chic vintage pieces and glam design items about. Here are my favorite nooks.
This Hermes orange desk look. To die for. That framed scarf and orange Jonathan Adler channing desk is bomb. I also loved the gold rams heads, deep grey sofa and this gorgeous rug in the living room.
The master bedroom was outfitted with everything my heart skips a beat for. A zebra rug, a brass bed, black linen bedding, vintage side tables and pretty lighting. Aren't the wood floors pretty?
I especially loved how hip the dining room nook is. Makes me want to buy burled wood everything now. Oh and the art throughout the home was fantastic, this dining room piece was no exception.
What vintage bohemian glamorous home would be complete without a peacock chair? This was so cute it just sealed the love deal for me.
Also, I decided that I need this 'you look good' bath mat ASAP.
So. Did you like the homes? Which one was your favorite? I want to hear.
