I think I have fallen hard for metallic grasscloth wallpaper. Phillip Jefferies makes this gorgeous paper and I am dying to just fill a home with this wonderful beauty!
In the house I am currently working on, we are going for greige on the walls. As much as I want to put a metallic grasscloth wallpaper throughout, we are going to just have to stick with the bath but greige will be throughout that is for sure.
I was inspired by the color alpaca by Sherwin Williams. It's the perfect blend of beige and grey and just looks radiant next to dark brown wood flooring. However, initially the color seemed off, a bit pink for our taste. After switching up our paint and using Valspar Reserve paint in a flat enamel finish and changing the tint just a bit ( at Lowe's they will mix any color you want ), we came out with the perfect greige color. The Valspar Reserve paint went on in just one coat and the color looked so good on our textured walls. PAINT TIP: make friends with your local paint mixer, ask around and make sure you have an expert. Ours was very well versed in mixing, and blended the perfect mix for us.
3 rooms I am inspired by. . .
This one is traditional yet still glamorous. I would love to get this mix going through the home.
I love the monochromatic vibes happening in this room. Layering a few neutrals can add some magic too. Or you can go with some softer colors to give a more feminine mix. . . (by Wayne Windham Architect)
This room is more grey than greige but I really just adore the soft leopard fabric, it's almost hidden in the grey. That's a great way to incorporate a bold pattern into a soft room.
