Yesterday I shared my last minute holiday mantle decor with you all and I wanted to touch on the beautiful metallic candles that I made. As we all know, I am obsessed with metallics, so I keep metallic spray paint on me pretty much at all times. I have antique gold and rose gold from Valspar and I love them. Plain white tapered candles looked a little too stark against the gorgeous paper and candlesticks and I knew they needed some sprucing up. So, I figured I would try to jazz them up with a little spray.
This is the Valspar spray that I use and here is a shot of the candles before. Plain and a little boring. I simply took the candles and held the bottoms out while spraying about 3-4 inches of the bottom. If you turn the candle clockwise while spraying and hold the spray can about 12 inches away, it automatically creates an ombre effect. Which turned out absolutely beautifully.
I chose the rose gold spray because I knew it would go perfectly with my wrapping paper and mercury glass ornaments.
Valspar has been kind enough to provide me spray paint for my DIY projects. All ideas and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting my amazing sponsors.
