One of the things I’ve grown to understand is that becoming the best version of yourself isn’t just a overnight, one time transformation. It’s a journey. It’s a life long personal development journey.
Part of that journey is being really present and practicing self awareness. Getting to know yourself inside and out is a huge part of the personal development process. It will help you find a sense of true and lasting inner peace, bring clarity and purpose to your life, help you build better relationships, the list of benefits goes on and on.
So, if you are looking to level up your life and make some personal changes for the better, one of the first habits you should adopt is reading. I am an avid reader and constantly looking for new books to dive into. Each time I read a new, I feel an awakening in my mind. New concepts, new ideas, new ways of looking at things. Reading can help to expand your mind.
I also am a big fan of re-reading. Sometimes, I read a book and I may love it. A few years later, I may pick it up and read it again and get a completely different, elevated experience from that book. It’s always exciting to see how much you have grown and how much more insight you might be able to glean from a book that you just weren’t ready to receive before.

💕 The Game of Life and How to Play It by Florence Novel Shinn. OMG! I love this book so so much. The best part? It’s short but it is potent! She nails the game of manifestation. You’ll learn how to flip the script on your negative thoughts that are controlling the trajectory of your life. Learn how to use affirmations and the law of assumption to navigate your life experience. Actions, energy and attitudes are your secret weapons when it comes to playing the game of life.
💕 Simplify: 10 Practices to Unclutter Your Soul by Bill Hybel. I stumbled upon this book at goodwill one day while thrifting and thought to myself, “this looks inspiring”. And let me tell you, it was.
This book basically helps you to see past yourself and take a look at all of the ways our soul holds clutter. Clutter in your home will always reflect what is going on internally. This books sheds a light on areas where you could use to let some things go and really simplify. Love this one.
💕 Manifesting Change by Mike Dooley. Okay, so this is one of those books I’ve read a few times over the years. Every single time I start reading it, I get chills. It’s just a great book that reminds you that you hold the power to create any change you desire for yourself. Want more money? Think like you’re rich. Want a new relationship? Act like you’re in one. Dooley does a beautiful job walking you through the process of creating the life of your dreams. Do not skip out on reading this one.
💕 Worthy by Nancy Levin. Ladies, if you haven’t read this book, you may want to start here. Whenever someone tells you that your net worth is impacted by your self worth, this is where it comes from. This woman literally wrote the book on how improving your self worth will increase your net worth. If you don’t believe it, just take a look at the astrological birth chart makeup. The 2nd house defines your personal self worth AND your finances. There’s something to it. So, trust me, read this book.
💕 You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. I got my hands on a copy of this book from the 90’s at a thrift store once. Yes, I love finding books at thrift stores. Anyway, this book is rich and I mean rich with priceless stories on how to heal your life by changing your thoughts and actions. She takes you on a journey through each area of your life and has you take a deeper look at what you might be causing. She also shares tips and tricks on how to cure specific illnesses that might be caused by some emotional influence. A beautifully written book that will help you get to know yourself on a much deeper level and support you in your next uplevel.

♥️ Boundaries: When to say yes, How to say no to take control of your life. I think we all could get better at creating boundaries in all areas of life. This is at the top of my list.
♥️ How to do the work by Dr. Nicole LePera. If you’ve ever heard of the Holistic Pshychologist on instagram, this is her book. I have reposted her so many times so I am super excited to dive into this book.
♥️ Daily Laws: 366 Meditations of Power, Seduction, Mastery, Strategy and Human Nature by Robert Greene. I’ve always wanted to read his books and this one is the one I want to start with. Mostly because it gives you a short daily read for a just a dose of his content. Looking very forward to this one.
♥️ The energy codes : the 7 step system to awaken your spirit, heal your body and live your best life by Dr. Sue Morter. If you are familiar with my blog, then you know I am passionate about the chakras.
♥️ You do You: How to be who you are and use what you’ve got to get what you want by Sarah Knight. This girl wrote all the fun books on not giving a fu*k and I just love her. This is next on my list.
