In honor of September 11, today guest contributor Maia is back with an NYC inspired post for Fall fashion week.
Living in New York City, I’ve encountered many changes, new beginnings and incredible experiences. From the changing seasons, to breathtaking rooftop views and experimental cocktails there’s always something new and exciting to check out and try. Needless to say, there are hundreds of beautifully designed spaces in NYC, and no better time to visit than during NYFW. The city comes alive with fashion creatives, photographers, and models during Fashion Week and I’ve narrowed down a few, really chic and Instagram-able spots to enjoy while you are here!
FOR SOME TIME ON THE WATER
Pilot is a floating oyster bar on a 100-year old wooden schooner docked at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. With an amazing view of lower Manhattan, you can grab a great Boomberang of the chef shucking oysters!
Quick Tip: If you arrive around 5pm before the dinner crowd shows up, you won’t have to worry about people being in the background of your photo!
FOR A GREAT VIEW
The 1 Rooftop at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge
From the gorgeous lobby to the awesome rooftop restaurant, this hotel has multiple options for grabbing the best Instagram shots. Plus, they play reggae on the rooftop during the weekends, so prepare for a party!
Quick tip: On your way there, make a quick stop at the intersection of Front Street & Washington Street for the quintessential Manhattan Bridge Instagram photo. This street is Instagram famous!
FOR A SENSE OF OLD NEW YORK
The Bar Room, The Beekman Hotel
For that old New York vibe, visit the Bar Room at the Beekman Hotel. It’s situated below an incredible 9-story atrium that’s perfect for design and photography lovers alike.
FOR SOME WELL DESIGNED SHOPPING
The Apartment by The Line is a great stop for incredibly chic home furnishings, accessories & gifts. You can get lost here for hours perusing every detail of this apartment, where everything you see is for sale.
You’ll feel right at home inside this beautiful shop on one of the prettiest streets in Noho. With gorgeous floral arrangements and thoughtful, boho-inspired interior design you can take the perfect Instagram pic from any angle!
FOR A COOL VIBE
Welcome to NYC’s coolest new hotel concept by Ian Schrager, the creator of the iconic Studio 54. Public’s “luxury for all” concept is experienced through texture, color, and a revolving art display, making this an Instagram must!
