As many of you know, I'm an entrepreneuress with a purpose. I purposefully schedule time to read articles and learn how to sharpen my business and life skills. I came across this fantastic article "7 Habits of Highly Successful Women in the future of work" . Absolutely loved it. With the workplace changing and so many things changing in how we do business and marketing, I found a few of these tools to be perfectly on time. Here are a few points that I wanted to highlight for you, from my readings.
Craft your personal brand
Think of the mental shortcuts we all use to make sense of people we don't know well. The digital artist. The crack coder. The genius with big data. With a growing number of free agents, personal brand is growing in importance, as managers seek people with the right characteristics for fluid projects and teams. Think of your personal brand this way: When somebody encounters you for the first time, what do you want them to think? What do you bring to the table? How do you want to be remembered?
Once you've identified your personal brand -- or what you bring to the table -- deliver on it consistently. Then promote it in places that matter to your audience: places like LinkedIn, Twitter, relevant blogs, live conferences and meetups.
Evolve yourself every day
It used to be that you attended university and then you went to work. Now, the demand for skills is changing fast. No matter how experienced you are, you need to be nimble. With options like Coursera, General Assembly and more, successful people view education as a continuous, lifelong pursuit.
Be "out to lunch."
It is well worth the time to get to know -- and even share a beverage or meal with -- colleagues in your own and other departments. The better you know the people you work with, the more you learn, the more influence you gain and the more you're likely to make each other successful. Just because you're not sitting at your desk doesn't mean you're not being productive -- utilized wisely, lunch is work.
Since coming to design + work in Texas, I've noticed just how imperative it is that I get out to lunch and talk with people. You can learn so much just through making connections and asking questions. This is a strategy I am constantly imparting on my coaching clients.
Another article I loved was "10 habits of high net worth women" Here was my favorite one...
Keep Your Eye on the Prize
Financially responsible and successful people don’t build their wealth by accident — or overnight. Becoming rich takes serious willpower and long-term vision. You have to be able to keep your eye on the prize of financial freedom, be willing to sacrifice your present wants for the sake of your future, and develop good habits to win.
I also love the simplicity of these 7 simple habits of highly productive women, am I right? She's got some really nurturing and helpful points.
These tips aren't just for my entrepreneurs out there, anyone can apply these actions into your life to enhance your success in whatever it is that you are passionate about and up to. Do any of these habits stand out to you?
