Pantone has officially announced Marsala as the color of the year 2015. I am quite shocked with the color, I thought it would be more royal blue or something bold. Nonetheless, I am actually kind of into the color. It's a more muted version of burgundy and I kind of am really into it. I love the way it looks with pale powder blue and other jewel tone colors. It's kind of fab and I feel like Kelly Wearstler would do something really cool with it.
It's not as if you have to get seriously literal and throw this dusty color on your walls, but you can use it in super creative ways, like adding some poufs to your space, painting your front door in the hue, covering you table with a gorgeous wine colored tablecloth, etc.
