Yesterday for Mothers Day, I told you guys a bit about my fond affections for the 70's. So, as you can imagine, when I spotted these photos from House Beautiful 1971 I went ballistic. How curiously similar are the decor styles in these photos compared to what's in right now...2011? It's insanely good. I love how styles in fashion and in home come back around again.
Bliss in the kitch' {stylish shelving situations}
Feeling fabulously convinced that proper storage in a kitchen is more than necessary. I love how this black wall of shelving sits perfectly next to a bright and white little kitch'. Complete with an island, industrial lighting and a very hip ladder, this kitchen space is more than meets the eye. While there is plenty of space for chopping and mixing, the space for all your storage needs is more than swoonworthy. My heart melts for really, really good shelving and storage.

bathroom bliss...the loveliest bathroom moments
So everything about this bathroom right now is killing me softly. The wallpaper is black and white perfection, I am so into it. I love how not all walls are covered, super good idea for less drama. Oh, and the monograms always speak sweetly to my heart, I love them. Oh, how I am adoring delicious bathrooms right now...
How incredible is that Mary Macdonald bathroom? She just gets me every single time. The bathtub is so dreamy! I can't wait to watch her on Bravo Million Dollar Decorators.
moments of domestic bliss with Red
I don't know why I am feeling this way but ever since I saw prince william in that red military jacket I have been smitten with the color red. I have always adored red so its nothing new to me, but lately I have been spotted bits of red here and there and it always adds such a delicious little touch. This gorgeous red window treatment just has me desperately wanting more red-ness in my life. Stunningly perfect!
Now for just the most fun touches of the ultra vibrant and sexy color.

Tablescape Tuesday: the skirted round table
Making your home a warm and cozy palace for your belongings is the ultimate domestic bliss. I have found that one sure way to make a lovely display piece for your most treasured items, aside from bookcases, are lovely skirted round tables. As you all know, I am loving layered fabrics lately and adding fabric to the tables in your home is the perfect way to achieve this look. My first choice is a fun zebra fabric or even a David Hicks pattern will rock your house, too.
a bit of union jack for the Royal Wedding day...
I can't explain how fabulous it must be to live in the UK right now. Everything about the Royal Wedding this morning was oh so fabulous. Such a romantic day for us girls, to watch a real life prince charming say his vows...sigh. I can't get over how perfect and beautiful everything was. Not to mention, the words that were spoken...
"BE WHO GOD MEANT YOU TO BE AND YOU WILL SET THE WORLD ON FIRE!"
I died a little.
I am ordering a union jack pillow immediately to remind me of this fabulous day!art + room {animal art}
gorgeous blue walls + cozy beige sofa + ritzy gold acccents + sexy cheetah painting =
perfection
So loving this room, the minute I saw it, I got inspired for something a little more masculine. One way to really dress up a masculine room is animal art. It's so right now and translates into almost any style.
Elephants are usually my favorite, but I am also loving birds, cheetahs and zebras too. I adore this flamingo...too cute.office space of the day...taxidermy on high
The Decorista tip of the day...get an arch lamp asap
The weather here in the city is rather odd lately, gorgeous one day, rainy and gross the next. I had a lot of time inside the apartment and was thinking about an easy way to glam up the living room. I had a marvelous idea, To get a little extra something in your space, get an arch lamp. They are gorgeous, modern, sexy and oh so glamorous! I am currently obsessed with the look of these bad boys.
nesting tables...more than one is a magical number!
After a weekend full of fun (and lots of birthdays in my life) I am ready to be back on the work grind. This week, I am in search of the perfect table for a certain project and I think I am all for a set of multiple tables, like nesting tables. They are a PERFECT solution for NYC apartments. They all fit into the size of one table, yet they can be pulled out to provide extra space when entertaining. Stylish, practical and oh so genius for small square footage decorating!

Wallcolor Wednesday... multi faceted color
How fabulous is this mutli colored room? Reminds me a little of a global or exotic hotel that I'm dying to escape to. I love that there are 3 different colors of paint used here... its just so rich + saturated. I am all about bold colors + mixing it up lately. Which lead me to believe a little bit more in mixing wall colors, I am usually not a fan but these well done combinations are twisting my arm and have me thinking...
"I can work with that!"
"I can work with that!"

needing. wanting. loving. {ghost chair influx}
I am so happy to be back in NYC and already busy working again, so fun! I'm currently working on a fabulous project using the cute + coveted white louis ghost chairs. I am so in love with them, they are so adorable and the perfect addition to this room. How about the pretty monogrammed pillows to top them off with some flair? Fierce, no?
Why do I so love this fabulous chair???
Style-icious Sunday {Brooklyn Bohemia}
My posts have been rather sparse lately, mostly because I have been in LA. Its been such a good time to relax and recharge. So, thank you for your patience with me. I missed this last Sunday's "Style-icious Sunday". Today, as I am jetting back to New York (so excited to get back), I wanted to recreate my style-i-cious inspiration for the week for you. All about that Brooklyn Bohemia...a super cool, swanky, hipster look that is currently on my mind. It's fun and so very, very in style.

The Decorista tip of the day...be color confident
Loving this saturday morning in LA. So excited to be back to the city of lots and lots of color!
So, as I'm sure you could get the minute I laid my eyes upon this photo, I died a little. OMG that is some major color action. How completely gorgeous is this colorful jewel toned living room spread? I mean come on, a teal chevron sofa, magenta chairs, minty green ruffled curtains. Major swoonage happening here...so please, never be afraid to use or mix lots of bold color!
office space of the day... loving tiger prints
the most fabulous gold mirrors + where to put them
Today I will be bustling around WeHo attending the design events and I am so delighted about it!
I'm excited to meet all of the other designers and design bloggers. What I am most excited about, however, is checking out all of the amazing pieces at each showroom. I'm sure they will be putting out the best of the best for all of our eyes to see. What I'm most entranced by at the moment.....outrageously good gold mirrors. So in love...
