As wonderful as this beautiful holiday is, today tends to be a difficult day for most people. For me, it's my paternal grandmothers anniversary with my grandfather. A very special day indeed. However, now that she is 100 years old and my grandfather is long gone, we made the decision to move her to a community where she can have care around the clock. This was one of the most difficult things to do myself and watch my father have to participate in too. Life can be beautiful but also bittersweet at times.
It's important to remember not to get caught up in the thoughts of sadness, worry, etc. I struggle with this daily. What I do have to remember is that when I find myself going down these thought spirals, I come back to my trusty routine of how I turn around the blues.
I separate myself from the thought spiral. I just make myself STOP. Stop thinking about it. Stop talking about it. Stop complaining about it. I just any mental chatter and get busy.
I light candles. Go grab flowers. Clean up, remove clutter, clear off table space. I create an environment of beauty and bliss that feels good to me.
I pour myself into activities that make me feel productive and creative. I look at pretty magazines, journal my deepest wishes, I pull a goddess tarot card, I read my favorite positive or spiritual books, I go to the library or bookstore. I spent extra time rubbing my pregnant belly with beautiful smelling lotion, sending my baby love. I am creating this blog post full of beautiful pictures that make me feel love and happy Valentines vibes.
All you need is a moment of focusing on something that feels good, then you can shoot yourself right back into a blissful vibration. Hopefully these photos will give you all the happy feels too!
I also really enjoy shopping online. Here are a few of the things I am loving...
