Today we are back with another living chic moment from Caitlin. . .
I know all you Decorista readers are go-getting, boss babes with style! When we are working so hard to achieve our dreams sometimes things we genuinely want to do can get pushed aside because they aren't "essential".
Well, the easiest way to incorporate these things that will bring you joy is to make them super easy to accomplish and remember. I feel that making little "moments" throughout your home for these activities is the key that makes them actually happen!
For instance, I love writing hand-written gratitude notes to friends but find it falls to the wayside until I'm getting cards out for someone's birthday etc. By setting up an area on my desk or a table with beautiful stationery, a pretty pen and a scented candle it's not only a visual reminder that writing notes is something I want to do, but it makes the process of actually doing it so enticing.
I also love a good cocktail moment from time to time. Setting up a chic corner with beautiful glassware, a cocktail set, monogrammed napkins and a fun drink accessory remind me to take a break and make it super easy to enjoy sipping on something special.
Another great daily joy activity is painting your nails. I love how I feel when I do them regularly, but having to dig through a bathroom drawer or bin to find polish, files etc can be daunting. By setting up a beautiful tray with a few of my favorite polishes for the season, a file and some luxe lotion it turns the task into a spa-like experience that I look forward to.
It's fun to switch out your "moments" regularly so you can incorporate different things you want to do and switch up your surroundings at the same time. It makes seeing the area fun and fresh each time, like a little life celebration.
What are some daily joy items you have been pushing to the wayside? Any more tips on incorporating them? Let us know in the comments!
