I'm excited to officially announce that I have opened up the blog to several contributors to help keep our content here fun and flowing. Through the years I have met so many wonderful and inspiring people and it is beyond an honor to have them contribute to make this blog much more blissful. Today, we kick off the contributor series with my girl Tamerri, the Astrofashionista, a professional astrologer and personal success coach. She is my personal astrologer and gives practical advice on how to use astrology every day to maximize their success in a fun and relatable way.
It's officially Virgo Season which means it’s time for us all to slowly come out of summer relaxation mode, get organized and prepare for an exciting and productive fall. People born from August 23rd-September 22nd are Virgos and were born under the symbol "The Virgin." This gives Virgos a reputation for being shy, clean, organized and meticulous. Of course not all Virgos fit into these categories and there is much more to this sign. We could all benefit from being a little more Virgo like and one way to do this is through our decor. Check out my tips for decorating your space for Virgo season!
Virgo Season Tip #1: Get Organized
Virgos have a reputation for being organized and they are probably the most organized sign of the zodiac. Not all Virgos are organized but many of them can tell you exactly where something of theirs is located - even when it's in a pile of mess. So for Virgo season I'm tasking you with getting organized. And the best place to start is your closet. No matter how big or small your closet space is, you can make it feel like your own personal palace by getting rid of clothes that you never wear. If you haven't worn a piece of clothing in a year, donate or toss it. Invest in nice hangers - the velvet ones are awesome. And put up extra shelves for shoes, bags, jeans or sweaters. After you tackle the closet, move on to the bathroom. You know there are some products you've had under your sink for way too long!
Virgo Season Tip #2: Ground Your Space
Virgo is the second earth sign of the zodiac which means they are grounded, stable and focused on building and accomplishing goals. All three earth signs (Taurus, Virgo & Capricorn) naturally have a grounded energy but it’s important for all 12 signs to stay grounded, especially at home so they're able to tackle obstacles that come about throughout the day. A few ways to ground your space are by using earth tones in your color scheme, bringing the outside in through plants and fresh flowers or incorporating a grounding crystal like obsidian into your décor to balance your root chakra.
Virgo Season Tip #3: Have Fun with Pillows
Virgo is a mutable sign which means it's one of the more flexible signs in the zodiac and equipped to deal with change. Home design should be fun, like putting together a new outfit so you shouldn't feel like you have to be tied to one look for eternity. A great way to switch things up at home is by using pillows in different colors and patterns. It’s an inexpensive way to instantly get a new look and feel in your home.
Virgo Season Tip #4: REdesign Your Home Office or Desk
Virgos can be workaholics and with Mercury, the messenger and communication planet as their ruler, their minds are constantly wandering. Many Virgos aren't happy unless they’re helping people out or making themselves useful. It's common to find them burning the midnight hour, even at their home office. Since many of us spend most of our life working in an office, we might as well make it a nice environment. Spruce up your office space by investing in some cute office supplies, personalized stationary, a stylish planner and putting up pictures of your favorite people.
Virgo Season Tip #5: RELAX
With all the work and organization that Virgo often likes to tackle, they can sometimes forget to take care of the most important person in their life – themselves! But we ALL need self-care in this busy, digital world that we live in. You're supposed to put your oxygen mask on first when you're on a plane, before you help others and we should have the same mentality in life. We can't be our best selves if we're burned out so take some time to light your favorite candle, take a bubble bath, order your favorite takeout or binge watch your favorite show. Trust me the work will always be there so enjoy time with yourself. It's a luxury that is priceless!
