Hey hey everyone! Welcome back to the One Room Challenge. It's now week 4 and we are well on our way to a finished and styled up space. Luckily for me, this room is a loft space so not much painting or super hard work had to be done. Thanking my lucky stars. We are just tricking out a stylish office space for a super creative gal. If you need to be brought up to date {see links below for past weeks}. This week, we put the rest of the furniture in the space. We still start with my focal point of this room, which is the desk area. We want it to be full and fab. Here is what we are with now...
We went with this sleek ikea desk because of its large size and thin legs. It's not easy to find a large desk with such light legs. She has two computers and a whole lot of camera equipment she needs to work with so we needed some real depth. We also got her 2 beautiful white Eames chairs, the chair is perfect for a loft space. We finally got the art prints from minted. I also have created a little collection of wall prints from my decorista sayings "black is my crack" + "gold is always a good idea" . The black one is perfect for Sarina.

We decided to fill the spaces with these 4 items because they all go so well with her personality. Originally we had the bull art on this wall, but it looked so much better above the bookcase and lends for such a show stopping effect. He is way too masculine to be with the other girlie prints.
Doesn't he look good there? We will be hanging him soon. It's really difficult to drill into cinderblock so we have to get some special tools for that. We also added up some of her inspiration images with black tape for a funky effect. Underneath that area we will have a plant, to fill the space with green. I'm all about bright green in a black, white and grey space.
To the right of the shelf we put a black matte vintage credenza and it looks so good in the space. Sorry about the photo, the sunlight is soooo bright at certain times of the day. I'll get a better photo soon. Right now we have the art for the art wall leaning there, because thats what we plan for that space. Leaning art. I am obsessed with leaning art and so is she. We also have her collection of sunglasses there right now because they go with the scheme of the space and you need them in the bright room.
Here we brought over her drafting desk which used to be in her bedroom. Her black and chrome stool is the perfect fit too. We want to put some more greenery around this space, to really inspire her and maybe some more shelving for storage too.
Now back to the art wall game plan:
We knew we wanted a staggered art look and for it not to look too finished. By balancing out the weight and taking other factors into consideration {ie chair, air filter, computer} we were able to come up with a balanced look for the vignette. It's totally her personality which is so important in a work space.
So, we've got to actually hang the art, get the rug, add some greenery, find some really fab leaning art for credenza, add in a guest chair, etc. We may even just be finished early. Woop Woop. I guess that's how it goes when you aren't painting anything. lol.
