I don't know if its because I'm currently in Austin or what, but I really am having a blue period. As I finished my ORC room with a bold navy, I'm filling a clients top floor media room in a muted ink blue, and as I decorate my new Austin space, all I can imagine filling it with is shades of blue. I've even gotten white towels with blue stripes, soft blue bath mats, blue shower curtain, I've even found myself buying only blue dresses. Whatever the case is, I've definitely found my blue period.
I'm all about black, white and gold. Period. That's my ish, and I love those colors and the high contrast that goes with them. Then I came back across an old apartment that I loved and decided, that's it, I'm painting my apartment walls blue. This is my inspiration. Greg Natale is one of my favorite designers and Sydney is my second favorite city in the world, right behind Paris, then San Francisco, then Madrid. Back to my point, I love everything this guy does so I'm definitely going to be using this space as my inspiration. (It just so happens that it was one of the rooms on my mood board, and interestingly enough it was the only one with any kind of color in it. So different from the rest.)
I have such a mix of different things in greys, blacks, whites and gold. So, this sweet blue will be the perfect backdrop to my eclectic mix of furnishings. The best part, in my opinion is that I get to include more black, which wont be overkill because the blue keeps it from being too much. Instead it just looks more rich. Thank you Jesus.
