Hello again and welcome back to the fun & exciting third installment of One Room Challenge. I'm more than thrilled to be talking about #projectmoderngrannychic once again. {catch up on week 1 & 2 if you need a refresh}. So, this week has been a little slower than last. The wall color is so delicious, I almost just want to leave the walls bare but no....
In the cozy little desk area, I've put up a few little things. Candlesticks, tray with perfumes just to keep things looking at least a little decorated. Not that this is how it will look in the end, just throwing a few things up. What I'm really wanting to show you is that adorable corbel I found, well I painted it white & added a sweet floral ginger jar that is my grandmothers to add to the mix. It makes the perfect little desk side decor.
To the right on that same wall, I chose to put up that photograph I found on Minted. It reminds me of walking through a museum. I am absolutely obsessed with architectural photographs in interiors and this one really spoke to me because I always was going to museums and grand estates with my grandmother and my family. So, not only is it a gorgeous photograph, there is total nostalgia behind it.
Ahhh. It looks so goooooood! I am obsessed. I threw in some plain white bedding for now in the room, so as to not look so undone when we have guests. However, I caved and ordered the navy greek key collection from Jill Sorenson. I've always been obsessed with her bedding. That will really make this room sing.
Now, I've been on the hunt for the perfect tall dresser so I can DIY a little something something and get that malachite look. However, as I was browsing around I came across this photo of a small black and white striped sidetable and thought to myself....BLACK AND WHITE STRIPES?! Duh. It's one of my signature looks. I must have it in this room.....so scratching the malachite look and going for something like this for the tall dresser. Plus, it goes with the black and white on the photograph, no? I think it will really pop!
Stay tuned for that and more next week but for now don't forget to check out the other ORCers...
