Being a blogger/designer, I am constantly on the hunt and many of you have sent requests as to where I go, if I do shopping tours or where to find this or that. I can't even keep up with where I shop myself, so I have decided to start documenting what I find when I'm out sourcing & antiquing and tell you a little bit about what I love and why I love it. I wanted to give you all a little bit more of an insight to what its like to go antiquing with me. We can call this "antiquing with ashlina" So, here we go...
Lately, as most of you know I have been more drawn to neutral palates and I'm also loving Scandinavian style mixed in with more French and modern pieces. I love this chair and these pretty pillows.
This sconce was absolutely stunning. Took my breath away, almost 4 feet tall and there were 4 of them. They came from a theatre in Paris. So very cool. I also happened to love this booth in yellow. Lots of things really caught my eye, especially this horn and glass dining table, I really want one now. Oh, and that pair of side tables were cool, too.
As you know, I'm so into floral art lately and it was everywhere and it looked gooooood. Loved all these mirrored pieces, too. These heart shaped sweetheart chairs were adooooooorable. I want to cover them in emerald green.
I loved these modern paintings and the white moroccan looking pendants too. I thought this was a cool combo here, mixing styles. Who wouldn't want the pair of mod turquoise chairs? They were good, as well as the gold square nailhead coffee table.
Art walls abounded in this area and I wanted all of it. I also was quite into the white tufted leather chairs. Those could be cool in my house.
These cool blue jars would look so chic somewhere. I loved them on that dresser and next to those lamps. Wanted this entire look but set on a black wall or some crazy good wallpaper. I could see it in a hip downtown bar or something.
In case you don't know, I've also been working doing art curation for a few clients in NYC and one in LA. I've been rampantly hunting for the best art finds from all over the world. Marburger is full of good art. I found this one dealer who has the best of the best from Europe and Latin America. I'm part Spanish, Mexican and Hungarian, (yes, I know, an interesting mix) and this art was done by a Hungarian artist. So, I am gaga for a few of these modern, geometric prints. This stuff is very in and abounding with color. Go Hungarians.
