BERRY EXOTIC RUGS

With all the blues and greens of summer, there is nothing like splashing in a bit of berry colors to the mix of your home decor. One way to do that with style is in a gorgeously exotic rug...
We all know how much I adore pink and I find some of these to be completely covetable for any look. Magenta, rose, strawberry red and even blush all can complement the most modern and masculine of styles.

After seeing a few of these looks, I am completely inspired!

Wallcolor Wednesday...black luxury
I just love the color combo black and white. However, rarely do I see glossy black walls and white sofas look so completely chic together. I love the simplicity and the fabrics used in this space. They are perfect with the other accessories in the space like the modern art and lighting. I usually love layers over simple and clean but this space trumps that thought...
Secret of Domestic Bliss #65...ADORABLE ENTRYWAY

When you first enter into a home or an apartment you really want to be impressed right? Well, I highly recommend that we all amp up the wow factor in our entryway. It is absolutely the most essential spot for style. Even in my little NYC studio, with no space, I still made major impact with just stripes and a few photos on the wall. It's easy to add a few things for style, here are some tips for inspiration...
I love the pop of white molding on this hot pink door and a mirror to maximize the space.

The coral walls and pop of aqua is so dreamy.

Wallpaper or paint with any of kind pattern works absolute wonders.

Black is always a favorite of mine and this glam gold mirror is so simple yet packs so much style.

I think I have a thing for stripes in the entryway..

viabliss in the kitch': kitchen metallics

There is something very very sexy about metallics in the kitchen. I love the way a shimmery backsplash looks or a beautiful brand new shiny stove. Shine and sparkle go a long way with me in a modern kitchen and even the tiniest bit of sparkle in a more subdued kitchen looks smashing.
If at all possible, I recommend you up the glam factor in your kitchen for some serious domestic bliss!

10 things that rocked my world this week...June 22

1. My love for photography as art is just beyond. I have a small obsession with outdoor photography like Slim Aarons and Massimo Vitali. I am quite sure I found the next hottest photog. Debby Hymowitz is a NYC based photog and I am seriously enamored with her work. I could use her work everywhere...

2. White sweater. Gold nameplate necklace. Coral polish. Tortiseshell sunnies. Big hat. My new favorite summertime look. This shot is fab!

3. Ghost barstools just give such a sweet kiss to a busy kitchen...I'm so happy with these boys.

4. I love coffee talks and connecting with people in life who motivate, challenge and inspire you. Good relationships, whether friend or family, are such a blessing!

5. Pink marble salad mixer. Hello.

6. I love the yellow in this chair. Its a perfect summertime look. These are at surf lodge in Montauk and are the perfect chairs for leaning back and taking in the view...

7. Hello hydrangeas. Shades of purple just make summertime that much sweeter.

8. I fell in love with this beach house bathroom. White with gold fixtures, now that glam!

9. Had a fun girls night in this pretty pink space and couldn't take my eyes of the pretty blush walls and that gorgeous turquoise bench. Glamtastic-ness!

The Decorista FEATURED IN ROCO MAGAZINE
You guys must check out the new issue of ROCO MAGAZINE...
They were kind enough to feature me and my sweet little New York studio. I have a huge makeover happening in my apartment right now so this is a sweet goodbye to the old look. Roco Mag is beautiful + glamorous and right up my alley. I love the other features too...
The cover is so very romantic and I quite literally almost fell out of my chair when I saw this photo of open doors overlooking a gorgeous lake. The coral/orange puddled curtains just stole my heart.
This sweet little bedroom took my attention too. I can't help but adore that sweet pup.
Great photos. Great magazine!
The Art of living...CHIC SIDE TABLES

Even though I am a designer and pretty much always go for a proper bedside table, the decorista in my heart loves clever solutions. I am so into unique bedside tables these days. What I love most is finding new and clever ways to reinvent old things. I am so partial to vintage shops and thrifting...its a love affair I have had since I was very young. So, I love searching for examples of that and new and inspiring ideas. Thank goodness for pinterest, it helps satisfy that craving...

I just love the idea of suitcases and trunks for sidetables...

I also adore the idea of anything meant for the outdoors, and bringing it in...

clever, no?

WALLCOLOR WEDNESDAY: TOTALLY TEAL

This summer is getting hot hot hot. So, I am craving some cool colored walls. At the moment I am coveting dark teal walls for my apartment because it will add a chic and very cool mood to the space. How chic are these rooms with the dark jewel toned color? I think it just makes every other color in the rooms pop in such a beautiful way...

There are so many different shades of teal that I adore of course, especially this lighter color used in an old Parisian style space.

However, for my small apartment a dark shade of teal just might be the perfect look.

I think this shade below might be my most favorite. The way the gold pops is just intoxicating, no?

ELEMENTS OF BOHEMIAN GLAMOUR...

When it comes to renting in the city, most people don't get to paint their walls. So, I find that they love to layer up with different styles to create a boho look. Very anthropologie, you know? However, I think that in some cases all they need is just a little element of glamour to finish the boho look off with serious style...

So, there are a few key things that you can add to create that look. Funky vintage photography is one of my favorite ways to personalize your space. There is also always rooms for mixed metallics of any kind. I love that kiss of shine! Simple touches of faux fur can go a long way and a hint of animal print never hurt anybody either.
Oh, and lets not forget candles, candles and more candles...always make a good boho glam look.
1/2/3/4/NEEING. WANTING. LOVING. a glass coffee table
So, now that I am back in the city I have been working on getting some things together for my gramercy client and I want to find a perfect glass coffee table for the space. Not just any glass coffee table will suffice, I need to have one with a few intriguing elements. For example, this gorgeous 3 tiered round glass table fixture. It's so chic, I can hardly stand it...
I love the geometric element on the bottom of this table, too. Sometimes, though, you have to stick with plain and simple lines for a good looking room.

Want to create this look for a little less? Get creative with stacks of books and a glass window.

via10 things that rocked my world this week....June 17

1. It's fathers day!!!! I love my dad and he rocks my world every week! Have no idea what on earth I would do without him. This is us a few weeks ago when he came to visit me in NYC. We had the best time! I miss you daddy. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

2. This candle has been the absolute highlight of my week. I always try to remind myself that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE...

3. I was lucky enough to spend a day in the Bronx with the kids from ELEVATE NY. An incredible, & non profit, in school mentoring program for high school kids. Raising up the next generation is one of my hearts desires. I love it.

4. Here is one of my dining alfresco moments I talked about...it was so beautiful and peaceful and incredibly delicious!
5. I seriously thought these phones were extinct but when I spotted this old school cell phone, I freaked. Here I am totally channeling Kelly Kapowski calling Zach Morris. I didn't want to put this thing down...but it was a little heavy.

6. This little brass LOVE statue completely stole my heart away. I am such a sucker for anything gold.

7. My most favorite place in the city. It's where I come to think, enjoy my coffee and people watch. It's so much fun in the summertime. I love new york.

8. I'm a big fan of disco balls. I seriously love them and believe they always have a place in your home. One exceptionally large one brilliantly works in a Hamptons dining room.

9. I love when restaurants get cozy...Pierre's (one of my favorite spots for brunch in the hamptons) is so warm and inviting. Books, chandeliers, art + accessories to boot. It's like coming home.

10. I always love a little something sweet and this chocolate fondue with marshmellows, berries, pineapple, bananas was out of this world good! Thanks to Ayza in the West Village, my week was rocked!
DINING AL FRESCO

Summertime is all about dining al fresco...I have been looking forward to it all year. This weekend I'm heading back out to the Hampton's for some lovely dinner parties and poolside brunches. I'll be doing a little working too, very excited about it, too! Hoping my weekend looks a little something like this...

ANY EXCITING PLANS FOR THE WEEKEND???
SILVERLAKE SWANK

It's been a while since I have seen an apartment with major style. Especially an apartment with ridiculously beautiful grasscloth wallpaper. This adorable Silver Lake condo is not only stylish, it was done pretty affordably too! Not surprising that a stylish LA gal would be the creative kitten behind this swanky space...

I love the hot pink/red velvet chair, it has such beautiful legs.

We all know what I feel about pink in the kitchen...so cute! The artwork is beautiful too.

And nothing tops off a beautiful outdoor space that a glamorous chandelier. So dreamy.

ELEMENTS OF A FRENCH BATHROOM...

This week I visited a friends home in the city and a few of the bathrooms were standard and modern however she wanted to add a bit of old world french glamour to it. We discussed several different options but I found that there are just a few key elements that can add the look in a big way...

An ornate mirror in gold or silver with beautiful curves is first and foremost. Mirrors can change everything. I also adore venetian mirrors or a cute gold chinoiserie style mirror can also give a chic twist. Glamorous and beautiful lighting is also essential in a bathroom, whether your priority is drama or just a beautiful glow, you want to make sure that the lighting has some curves and sparkle.

Wallpaper with a small repeat print with either floral elements or maybe even toile or stripes would be perfection...

To add the final touches, perfume bottles, apothecary jars and accoutrements give that perfect finished look. and voila! Magnifique!
