As I have been browsing around for inspiration, Ive found a few decorating accent tricks I like.
Let's start with the bed here, I love a high canopy bed with ample storage space underneath. What if you have nothing to go there? Books. I totally love the way stacks of books makes this home seem sophisticated.
I'm obsessed with this style of room. Very midcentury modern with bits of hollywood glamour. The best part? The wallpaper, its a tricky look. It's such a neutral color, you can barely see that its paper, but the almost invisible pattern gives movement, layer and texture. This translates to simple yet so luxurious.
Even something as simple as brass strips on a door can mean mega style. Paint something like this on a door for a completely glamorous revamp.
There is something about greenery in the home. It breathes life into a room. I've always been loyal to orchids because I think they are the perfect flower for the home. They last long and they are gorgeous, but adding plants is so essential. It gives life.
So, lets say you can't paint a room or put up wallpaper, you're living in a rental. My advice, add curtains to the wall. Fabric is the first way to bring that cozy feeling into your domain. It's an easy trick and white breezy curtains will do. I love how these create a great headboard look, and for little cost you have a cozier space, which we all love. I also feel like if you need to add some color to an otherwise boring, or neutral room. Curtains are the way to go!
