OFFICE SPACE: KARDASHIAN JENNER COMMUNICATIONS

We all know by now how much I love a good office space. In fact, more often than not I post on offices because where we work is where we spend so much of our time...so it should be just beautiful!
My very good friend Bryan P Flynn, is an interior designer from Atlanta who recently moved to LA to work with HGTV Design Star. Word quickly spread and soon enough he scored the gig to design the Kardashian Jenner Communication offices and he knocked it out of the park!

Bryan is so good. Only he would find a fab black glass desk with Hermes orange lining on the inside. Ugh. So good. The wallpaper and fabric work so well together in dark, rich colors too!
I love this black and white striped wallpaper, a bit irregular which steps up the sophistication factor a little bit.

I love this office too. The small repeat pattern on the walls gives movement to the space so everything else can be a bit understated. Except for the fabulously rich crocodile patterned rug that is just divine. I love how he mixed the finishes in this room...the black chandelier, a wood desk, clear glass lamps and a mirrored console.
Such fabulous offices...I want to work here.

10 things that rocked my world this week. September 30

1. This week was filled with so much glamour. Gold is glam. So in love with my gold and black python mirror. Everyday I look at it, it just makes me smile so much. Good home decor should always put a smile on your face.

2. My new chairs are amazing. So incredibly comfortable to sit on and read a book. Even in my small little apartment I now have the perfect little reading nook. Those are essential.
3. I love pink flowers and these deep magenta pink ones were absolutely perfect in my apartment.
4. This coffee table blew me away. Brass and glass on different levels is absolutely genius. My mind could find so many perfect ways to use this beauty. I wish I had room for it. Sigh.
5. Good as gold on my nails and a little sparkle on my ring finger. I love metallic nails for fall. The fall issues of my favorite British decor mags also were rocking gold hues. Love it.
6. I randomly popped into this beautiful restaurant in midtown called Lillie's. I was taking a picture of the door and then decided to walk in. It was absolutely glamorous and gothic at the same time. Velvets and reds and golds and antiques and candles and art....ah. I couldn't get enough of it.
7. I'm working on a little something special with Valspar and my paint deck happened to make this little nook of my office so cute.
8. We know how much I love the doors of new york and this guy was just so handsome. One day, when I have a big, beautiful home I want lions standing guard out front.
9. This buttery leather chair was just so beautiful I could hardly resist asking the sales person at Barneys if it was for sale.
10. This.

A Manhattan Apartment with girlie swag {via Vogue}

Since yesterday we went all the way masculine, today I thought I'd throw back a little pink into the mix. I always love a good girlie space and this one takes the cake. Pink walls and super glam accessories right in the heart of my beloved New York City...it's so right up my alley. The homeowner, Alina Cho. A completely stylish Manhattanite. I am absolutely blown away by her apartment. Take a look with me at this space as shares her apartment with Vogue...

Her entryway kills me with that leopard runner, dark chocolate walls and pretty pink silk chairs.
She mixed in accents of gold with super style.

How incredibly chic is that clear coffee table? So glamorous. She mixes metallics with such panache, I just love it.
The dining room with accents of green was such a great touch too. This color combo is just perfection.

ELEMENTS OF A MASCULINE BEDROOM

A woman's touch in decor is something that I will forever be a proponent of. However, there are times when a man really steps up to the plate and gets his style straight. I am working on a few clients right now that are bachelors in the city and I cannot continue to stress enough the importance of a cleanly and chic masculine bedroom. I truly believe that your confidence starts in your home. If your home is chic, looking right and clean you will walk more powerfully and confidently through your day... #justsaying

To start there are a few essential elements of a good male space... dark walls, soft curtain panels, groupings of chic photography artwork, and sumptuous, clean and crisp bedding. Warm blankets at the foot of the bed, simple but classic pillow combinations too.
I also find that metallics and leather always work very well in a masculine bedroom. Wood and plaster sculptures finish off the look with pure polish.
I always enjoy a good mike tyson photo or old rat pack style photography works well too.

How gorgeous does this buttery brown leather look on this dark and deep textured wall? So chic.
I'm even a fan of modern like in this bed combination below. I really love the mix of black and white photography too. This is such an easy way to display your personal favorite art works and kill the dead space above a low laying modern bed.
I am so loving all things masculine this moment...

office space of the day...DVF bombshell

I so fell for this Diane Von Fuerstenberg space upon first glance...
black and white curtains + african rug + asian console + small statues + bombshell photo art =
domestic bliss
I truly believe in bombshell photography is fab artwork...

I used this Sophia Loren print above my fireplace and it makes me happy every single day!
My girlfriend Jen used this Warhol esque print for her office too and it looks so fab!

Who is your favorite bombshell??? Would you guys use a bombshell photo???

DECORISTA DIY: python mirror

I have always been a fan of python when it comes to home accessories. Especially items that get covered with python paper like desks, side tables, bookshelves, and the like that have been seen in the glossies. However, the second I saw this gorgeous black and gold python mirror I knew I had to have a piece for myself. So, I turned to one of my favorite DIYers, Jen, for inspiration and now, with a little bit of work, I have the perfect gold and black python mirror for my very own apartment.
UPDATE: this gold and black python wrapping paper was found on this EBAY shop.

NEEDING. WANTING. LOVING. velvet sofa

New York is getting better and better weather everyday, the perfect chill, I just want it to stay like this. So, what I am really realizing that I want right now is a deep, sumptuous, velvet sofa to just curl up in.  Especially as the weather starts to get colder, you need warmer fabrics to get cozy with. Once I get on something I become a little obsessed, am I the only one?

Now I am on a serious mission to get one of these gorgeous things in my world...

Great lines and rich fabrics are the perfect elements of a glamorous sofa.

I love deep jewel toned sofas, especially in the colder months. It just adds a richness unlike anything else. Yet, it still can look good year round, all you have to do is change out your pillow selection selection seasonally.

In this project, we used the jonathan adler sofa in silver velvet. It was the perfect choice.

10 things that rocked my world this week. September 22

1. I'm such a sucker for anything to do with charities, non-profits, organizations that work towards the betterment and empowerment of those less fortunate than themselves. So, I was beyond excited to take part in an event this week for FreelyBe and their work for MERCY 29 (my new favorite anti-profit). I helped get donations and so I had to look fab. Jessica, my good girlfriend, came to my rescue and did my hair and makeup to help support the cause. Jessica also has a non-profit called Pure Beauty Project, I'm passionate about beauty too so I love being part of this organization too...
2. Pretty portraits of women dressed glamorously are a weakness of mine. I found this beauty at my local vintage shop. I had to have her, isn't she gorgeous?
3. Okay, so I just have to say the fall in New York City is just beyond! Every single day I walk outside I want to scream how much I love it here. It's so good. The weather, the chilly-ness, the beauty in architecture and even the water. My evening runs along the Hudson river are my quiet time to gather my thoughts and get my strength for my day. So blessed.
4. Found this sofa in a local vintage store. This incredible Art Nouveau pattern just blew me away. I thought to myself, someone incredibly chic + stylish must have owned this sofa. I would love to know the person, I must have come up with 5 different potential stories of the owner. I love imagining these types of things.
5. If you know me well, then you know how important smells are to me. I am a freak about it. I'm the kind of girl who has perfume for everything, I spray my bedding everyday, I spray my lingerie, I even have sachets in my closet. I just love good smells. I am newly obsessed with this line... Antica Farmascista.  Everything is just heavenly. I suggest you guys try it, its sooooo good.
6. Like I said earlier, I am obsessed with beauty. This week I attended the Lucky Magazine style guide launch party and I was in the corner sharing my beauty secrets with everyone. Had so much fun and I always love anything at the Standard Hotel.
7. Speaking of beauty, now that its fall I get to paint my toes dark colors. Right now I am rocking black, it looks so fab with my leopard print peep toe shoes.
8. My sweet friend Ida, sent me a beautiful set of handmade bracelets. A little bit rock and roll and made with love. It's always fun to add some edge to my jewelry collection. Love.

9. I love the colors on the cover of the October 2012 issue Latina Magazine. Read it from cover to cover and its SUCH a good issue. However, I feel like they need a little decorista action going on inside. When will everyone realize the importance of home in terms of your lifestyle? I am on a mission to get some decorating advice inside this fab mag!
10. We all know my passionate love for Jesus + this verse reminded me that I should never stop sharing my love for God with the world. God is so so so good! #ifyoudontknownowyouknow

PARISIAN FANTASY

With my trip to Paris coming soon I have been researching the things & places that I must see. Elle Decoration is one of my favorite magazines for art and architecture in France and I just can't get enough of it. I can't read or speak in French, yet, so I am not sure what this is of but I am blown away by this magnificently decorated home...

I love how layered and artistic this home is. While I love how bright colored and funky patterns abound right now in American home decor, my eye is drawn to edgy pieces, curvy lines, sumptuous fabrics, muted colors, moldings, and very high gloss paint.
These things are totally refining my style and I am beyond excited to get inspired for some new projects I have coming up. Im ready to get bold in bringing in some unexpected items with history and using things that are ridiculously oversized.

NEEDING. WANTING. LOVING. Tiger print textiles

This fall I have been seeing tiger print literally everywhere in this city. I think its such a fabulous look and I'm a little played out on zebra and leopard. Now don't get me wrong, I still love them but I think the look of the moment is totally tiger! This green velvet tiger print banquette absolutely blew me away...

I also think tiger art is ridiculously chic and totally in right now...
What a fab idea to put the print on just the cushions of a cozy sofa? It completely mixes up the traditional lined sofa and gives a little bit of edge. Wallpaper and pillows are always good ways to add sexy tiger print to the vibe of the room.

FINE FALL FRAGRANCES

Fall is finally here and what I am over the moon about is filling my apartment with fine fragrances that  create not only a beautiful ambiance, but a sweet smelling space, too. I am so particular about smells and always like to make sure that each area of my home smells wonderful. So, here are a few of my fall favorites...

GRAND HOTEL COLOR

FARGERIKE COLOR partnered with the hottest hotel in Norway, the Grand Hotel and created a junior suite with some much style, you would think its from Hollywood. The look is so bright and colorful and uses the hottest shades of green together like I have never seen. I love the switch up of emerald on the checkered floor, as opposed to black, my usual favorite. Green velvets and leathers look so good together here...

I love the graphic wallpaper too and the pop of bright red is stunning + oh so surprising.
The best part is the light blue walls with white molding. I would have never thought to mix these colors together but I think it looks incredibly chic and outside the box. Which is something I am dying to see more of. Mixing of shapes, looks, textures and styles was so well done in this hotel I am dying to go visit!

FAVORITE SHADES OF TEAL

I don't know why but right now I am obsessed with this room. The floral rug is incredible, pops of pink, purple and red all together. I also love the styling on the white glossy console. Oh, and of course this wall color.
I've done many posts on this fabulous wall color and I continuously get emails asking for my favorite shades. There are so many to choose from but so far, these few have worked swimmingly for me. Usually I lean towards gray walls but right now, teal is totally on trend and almost like a neutral. It's so good I can't even put it into words how good this color is. Here are a few I think you should try...

10 things that rocked my world this week...September 16

1. It was a fun week for designers here in NYC. My favorite fall event at NYDC, What's new, What's next in design was super fun. Crystal & I got to celebrate her magazine's 2 year anniversary, and 2 years of friendship and chasing after our dreams. Oh, what a night...

2. After spending a long weekend in Texas, flying back to NYC was the ultimate highlight of my week. The city in the fall is incredibly perfect, I have fallen in love with this city all over again. It's absolutely delicious.
3. Wood + Lucite in the most amazing form. This desk at Neirman Weeks is so incredible that I can hardly contain myself. The lines are genius. Oh, and that orange chair with brass studs is such a perfect complement.
4. The new Arteriors showroom here is packed with incredible things. The lighting was out of control and this chandelier had to be the most show stopping piece in the room. Such a stunner, no? Reminds me of a pretty little flapper girl dress.
5. I don't know if its because I am going to Paris or what, but curved lines on furniture is just all I can seem to talk about right now. This moment of pattern, lines and texture just took my breath away.
6. This mirror. I just couldn't help but fall in love with it. The relief little lovers scene is so romantic and beautiful. My heart must have skipped a beat a few times.
7. This was the last week of me wearing my bright pink polish that I have so adored all summer. I loved every moment of it. It's one of the things I really love about being a girl, pretty polish. I just love beauty products.
8. This little scene in my grandmothers bedroom really rocked my world. The colors, textures, fabrics, etc. It all goes so well together and completely inspires me to get more color in my apartment.
9. Every person should have a brass door knocker with their last name on it, no? I think so!
10. I'm getting ready to spend a lot of time in Williamsburg. My newest client has such a sick townhouse and this week I began to explore the area. Looking forward to do some Brooklyn treasure hunting.

bliss' in the kitch...show stopping tile

What I wouldn't give to have the courage to use gorgeous Mediterranean tile in this teal and black lace pattern. It's the perfect mix in this overly modern, clean lined, black and white kitchen. Lace is big this season in fashion and I love how this look really is fashion forward. I could could up a storm in this sexy kitch'. Right now its all about the exotic tile...

MALACHITE MAJESTY

There is nothing that I love more than some drama in design. This month's issue of Lonny magazine really brought new inspiration to my little decorista eyes. The Tony Duquette feature is absolutely incredible and oozing with drama and opulence. His signature pattern, Malachite, is on full display here in his grand estate with leopard prints, velvets, black and white flooring and all the deliciousness a decorator could ever dream of...

If this desk is not my dream desk for my home office space, well then I don't know what is. This photo makes me want to put a tassle on my desk drawer stat. It's always the little details that say the most.
This bathroom is just beyond. All the elements of malachite in this space are absolute perfection. I am always a fan of repeating a pattern over and over. It really adds a special finishing touch that makes a space look decorated on purpose...It's just soooooo good!
