a House Beautiful as ever! {manhattan apartment love}

Have you guys seen the lastest issue of House Beautiful?
I cannot get over the cover + the gorgeous NYC apartment that graces it.
Lots of color (as i'm sure you can guess) is my favorite, I literally get some serious pleasure looking at homes with extremely bold color palates. It warms my soul and feeds my eyes to see such goodness.
This gorgeous pink wallpaper is amazing! Chinoiserie, hello, i love you!
Oh, and of course all of the purple in this space....sigh.

a Scandanavian chic laundry room

Sometimes we forget that laundry and cleaning make up for most of our time spent at home, second only to our beds (and the kitchen too,  of course).
Laundry rooms are just as important to decorate as any other room in the home.

Feast your eyes on this gorgeous modern chinoiserie laundry room
decorated by my beautiful friend Dagny.
I love the perkiness of the wallpaper, the glamour of the Chanel photos and the chicness of the black and white striped flooring. My most favorite part is the beautiful view from the window.
Gorgeous, no?

tobi fairley just rocks my world {beautiful black and white floral wallpaper}

Dear amazing + beautiful readers,
Please understand I don't mean to bore you with this post (there is no real point behind it) but I absolutely have
a huge crush on this photo.
The wallpaper, the sunburst mirror peeping out in the back, that greek key bordered table, the lamp, the Chanel bag and yellow pumps.
oh man...

my pseudo bathroom wallpaper: ikea SLÄTTHULT decals

I saw this photo and got instant inspiration!
This is my bathroom. It is small and needed some life. Like the photo above.
I was dying to wallpaper it but the landlord says NO!
bummer.
So I bought some floral decals from IKEA...
and now it looks like this and is way more fun!
I think I may add a few more.
{photos taken from blackberry. sorry.}
Have you guys ever used decals???

secret of domestic bliss #13...show your walls some paper love

I originally intended this blog for my friends who need inspiration for decorating their homes
and apartments. My best friends from college who are just now buying homes and want them to be the best on the block, but have no idea how to make it work.
And with children and bills, the last thing they can afford is a decorator...
I keep getting emails from my girlfriends asking for advice.
Hence. Here I am sharing my thoughts.

Ladies...and your men.
(I am giving you my rule and it should be #1...)
and I know my fellow bloggers will agree.
please do not be afraid to use wallpaper!!!!
I know I have said this so many times but I am so serious.
As a decor-ista, wallpaper has become my best friend.
Here is all kinds of inspiration for ya.

Notice the wallpaper that just borders along the ceiling. cute huh?

i love what Averill did in her clients bathroom.
don't be afraid to just wallpaper an entryway either.

black and white stripes may be bold but it wins my heart everytime!

you could also do something like this pink number in a girls room or bathroom.

Oh yes. Imperial Trellis!

While I was reading my blogs of the day, I came across this fantastic picture over
at Elements of Style blog. My jaw dropped as I discovered that this fabulous wall isn't wallpaper. Oh no, not wallpaper, it's a DIY project that came out looking like the spitting
image of an extremely expensive wallpapered room.
Hello Gorgeous blog gives all the details on how to achieve this amazing look.

Breathtaking, huh?

inspriation: WALLPAPER + Colors

Such a rainy day here in Los Angeles and I am loving the fact that there is no way I am missing a beautiful sunny day while indoors and blogging my heart away.
i love the rain!

On another note...
Wallpaper or not to wallpaper?
This is our question of the day.
Tuyet, my client + sister, wants wallpaper in her bathroom...
something bright and fun.
So, we are on the hunt...she likes yellow.
I like purple or blue or something very flowery and fun,
something like these below.
Nothing says feminine like flowers, right?

wanting to be 'guild-ed'

I am so digging on Tricia Guild's latest fabric collections.
If I could, I think I would cover an entire guest home in her wall coverings + fabrics.
I love love love anything floral...flowers make me happy.
These particular fabrics would complete me.
Check her stuff out.
p.s. she also have amazing inspirational books that I keep around the house for fun.
