The Decorista tip of the day.... layer mirrors

One of my E-decor clients is obsessed with making her fireplace be show-stopping! So as I have been researching for some fireside inspiration, I came across this image and fell in love. I think its genius to layer mirrors, they give such dramatic impact. IKEA has fabulous (and budget friendly) square mirrors that you can get and stick on to the wall above a fireplace...and then just find an ornate + glam mirror to lean up on the mirrored wall. Instant style!

domestic bliss

Okay, so New York city is absolutely blowing me away. I have been buzzing around this city like crazy. I am most fascinated by the beautiful art galleries... everywhere! This photo totally inspired my day yesterday of hunting this city for the best artwork finds for clients this week. All the artwork in the city is intoxicating!

style-icious Sunday {eclectic panache}

 There is something about these NYC streets and the fashion that saturates them. Each outfit is so very different than the next. It inspires me in that I remember not everything has to be so "put-together". Eclectic style is every bit as stylish as the next, and probably a lot more inspiring than others.
Today I just want to luxuriate in the rooms that are inspired by this kind of look. Curious, colorful and filled with mixings of the most fabulous of textiles (suzanis + furs + plush velvets, oh my).

Wall color wonderful!

Deep, saturated jewel tone hues are going to be all the rage this coming year. I have always been a lover of gorgeous color on walls, but this beautiful shade of teal had me swooning for more. This lovely London home is gorgeous. Elements of traditional are jazzed up to perfection... notice the gorgeous green fabrics on the chairs. The gold lighting in the library literally took my breath away, so creative and chic.

How beautiful does Colette Van Den Thillart look in her london digs? She is the creative director for
NH Design. Her taste is absolutely incredible... a well deserved House + Home feature!

The Art of Living: gorgeous gallery walls

So, I've landed in Dallas, Texas...the first stop on my traveling tour...yay!
Tomorrow, I get to visit Nest Dallas to hang with the beautiful Beth Doloto and I am so excited.

My favorite part of being back in my home state is seeing all the photos all over the walls of our family. Years and years of memories displayed perfectly for my enjoyment.
Which makes me realize how beneficial gorgeous gallery walls are.
These stunners have really caught my eye and now I'm totally inspired to create a gallery wall for a new e-decorating client of mine.
It's perfect to fill up an entire entryway like above, I truly adore the look.
{There is a method to the effortless looking madness.}

WALK IN WOWZA

I am always arrested by amazing and gorgeous homes. It's something that I can never get enough of.
My e-decorating clients are always surprised when I try to educate them on creating an amazing entry.
I adore the feeling of walking into someones home and being wowed by its style.
These entryways are so well decorated, I would be so impressed by anyone who decorated the entryway with over the top amazing collections of frames. Here are some amazing ideas...

 Now if frames aren't your thing, don't be afraid to wow your guests with dramatic & modern lighting.

interior style crush: Graham Moss

After perusing the internet over the holiday weekend, I have so much to share.
I have fallen head over heels in love with the creative works of NYC interior stylist Graham Moss. The creative mind train that is used for set styling is unpredictable and a vital necessity in the design world. It takes amazing patience and a well trained eye to pull off style like this.

I love his uses of monochromatic color stories to set the scene for this show-stopping interiors.

This unexpected butterfly artwork works perfectly here. I can’t get enough of Mr. Moss’s work.
So splendid...don't you think?

Tablescape tuesday {entryway table decorating}

As we all know, the entryway of a home is one the most important spaces to decorate.
It is like the opening chapter of a book, its got to be good.
Tablescaping the entryway can sometimes present a challenge but I am just loving how these foyers, have been styled with displays of beautiful treasures.
Artwork and flowers are extremely helpful and oversize decor can make such an impact.
Oh, and really great rugs and beautiful trays, work wonders!

Home Tour: a stylish + oh so fun bloggers' abode

I love decorating. I love the way people decorate. I love helping those who are in need of decorating advice. This is the reason I blog. Another reason I blog...the home tours.
I love seeing them + I loooooove sharing them with you all too.

This is the stylish home of Bijou & Boheme blog. I love the incredible sense of style. It has a sense of laid back glamour that is very easy to recreate yourself. That is key for decorating.
It's got little notes of parisian chic, some modern glamour and a bit of boho.
Enjoy.
Did I mention how much I adore all of the artwork in the home? Well, I do.
Take a peek at this stunning piece in the entryway...very clever + oh so cheeky!
